Holtspur 3 BJ Lions Blue 2

Burnham were on top in the first 20 minutes and went a goal up with Thomas Finnerty. Holtspur hit back with 2 quick goals before half time. Burnham pushed on to try and even the score but Holtspur hit back and scored on the counter attack. Right at the death Burnham had a penalty which was converted by Leon Booth to make it 3-2 to Holtspur.

Slough Crusaders 2 BJ Lions Blue 2

Burnham Juniors Lions Blue played a re-arranged game against Slough Crusdaders who came out and scored in the first 30 seconds. After the shock, Burnham came out and started to play and battle the way they use too. Slough Crusaders thought they were going to have it their own way and went 2-1 up. In the second half Burnham kept Slough Crusaders at bay winning all 2nd's for the ball. With 5 minutes to go Calum Edgar followed in from Elliott Carey's free kick to take a point for the Blues. Jamel Fleming-Carty was Burnham's first goal scorer and Man of the Match went to the whole team.

Harefield 5 BJ Lions Blue 2


Last game of 2009 for Burnham. Burnham pressurised Harefield but went 2-0 down. Burnham then fought back with two quick goals. In the second half Burnham had all the play but Harefield had 3 shots which they took and came out 5-2 winners.

Burnham Junior Lions Blue 2 Amersham Town 1

After a long wait Burnham Junior Lions Blue finally got a League fixture in 2010 under their belt. Burnham had the majority of the play in the first half but went 1-0 down due to a quick break from Amersham. Burnham then went into the break 1-0 down. In the second half Burnham kept posession and moved the ball around to come out 2-1 winners. Man of the Match went to Elliott Carey and Goal scorers for the blues were Oliver Eaves and Jamel Fleming-Carty.


League Cup

Burnham Junior Lions Blue 6 Beaconsfield SYCOB Rams 0

After a long lay-off Burnham Junior Lions Blue Under 14 had one of their biggest injury hits in all times and had just the bare 11. Beaconsfield Rams came out and pressurised Burnham in first 10 minutes but Burnham kept them at bay. Midway through 1st half Burnham got the break and scored with a 40 yard screamer from Nico Chiappetta to put Burnham 1-0 up. From then on Burnham pressed to score a 2nd 5 minutes before half time. In the 2nd half after a stiff talking to the players, Burnham started to play the way they should and they dominated the 2nd half with fine ball skills and short passes which split Beaconsfield defence and four more goals were scored by the Blues. Goal scorers for the Blues were 1 for Charlie Howes and 3 for Oliver Eaves. Man of the Match went to Jamel Fleming-Carty.

Chinnor Youth 1 Burnham Junior Lions Blue 3

Burnham turned up for an early morning kick off with Chinnor playing with the wind and Chinnor kept Burnham at bay to finish 0-0 at half time. In the second half Burnham played against the wind playing the ball on the floor and scoring within one minute. Chinnor tried to play their game but Burnham closed them down and were far too quick for them. Burnham then allowed Chinnor to come back to 1-1 but from the restart Burnham kept their head and scored straight away. Burnham then went on with 10 minutes to go to add a third and came out 3-1 winners and go into the semi-finals of the League Cup. Goal scorers for the Blues were Thomas Finnerty 2 and Charlie Howes 1. Man of the Match went to Leon Boot

Burnham Junior Lions Blues reached the finals of the Slough & Windsor Open Challenge Cup with a superb performance and outplayed West Drayton Youth in the semis. In the first 5 minutes West Drayton had all the play until Jamel Fleming-Carty scored the Blues first goal. After that Burnham were all on top and did not give West Drayton time to play and went in 5-1 at half time. In the second half, Burnham put more pressure on West Drayton and scored a further 3 goals. Final result was 8-1 to Burnham Junior Lions Blues. Goal scorers for Burnham were Oliver Eaves 2, Charlie Howes and Maninder Singh Gill 1 a piece and Jamel Fleming-Carty 4 goals and who was also man of the match. Burnham Junior Lions Blue now meet Burnham Junior Lions Yellows in the final.

League Cup Semi final - Under 14

Flackwell Heath 0 Burnham Junior Lions Blue 3

Burnham reached the League Cup final with a win against Flackwell Heath. In the first half both teams cancelled each other out from a well organised Flackwell Heath side to go in 0-0 at half time. In the second half Burnham pushed up a gear and started playing the ball into spaces which split Flackwell's defence apart for Jamel Fleming-Carty to score. Ten minutes later Flackwell tried to clear the lines for Calum Edgar to hit a first time volley to make it 2-0. With ten minutes to go Burnham kept the ball and tired Flackwell to score a 3rd from Elliott Carey. Man of the Match went to Connor Warren and Burnham have now reached their 2nd final in two weeks.

BJ Lions Blue 5 Prestwood Colts 4

Burnham were shell shocked after 5 minut4es by being out played by Prestwood who hit 2 quick goals. 10 minutes into the first half the ball broke through to Jamel Fleming-Carty to make it 2-1. Prestwood did not sit back and pushed on to a score a third. 5 minutes before half time Burnham had their first corner of the game which saw Jamel Fleming-Carty hit the spot again to go in 3-2 at half time. After the break Burnham settled down and started to play possession football and equalised from a Calum Edgar flick. Prestwood was not going to give up and hit back with a fourth. With 10 minutes to go Burnham pushed on and Connor Warren equalised. Prestwood tried to hold back Burnham but Thomas Finnerty took the ball into the box and was brought down for a penalty which Elliott Carey converted to make it 5-4. Burnham held out to the end to come out 5-4 winners. Man of the Match went to Ashley Hoar.

Burnham Junior Lions Blue 2 Burnham Junior Lions Yellows 1

Burnham Blues versus Burnham Yellows met in the Slough and Windsor Open Challenge Cup. The first half saw a well fought 30 minutes with both Burnham teams cancelling each other out. Burnham Blues pushed on and Jamel Fleming-Carty broke down the defence to put the Blues 1-0 up at half time. In the second half the Yellows did not hold back and pushed on to equalise 10 minutes into the 2nd half. Both Burnham teams kept cancelling each other out and then the Blues pushed on and broke through to go 2-1 up with 5 minutes to go with a goal from Oliver Eaves. Man of the Match went to the whole team

Burnham Junior Lions Blue 6 Harefield Utd 0

After playing in the SWOCT Cup on Sunday, Burnham Junior Lions Blue turned out on Tuesday to play Harefield Utd in the League. Burnham had the bare 11 and took on Harefield and beat them 6-0. Goal scorers for the Blues were Jamel Fleming-Carty 2, Ollie Eaves 1 and Thomas Finnerty 3 who was also man of the match.
